WHO I AM

I began the practice of Aikido in 1977 when I was 16. My teacher was Giorgio Oscari.
Then, in Modena, Aikido was not very popular yet.
In May 1981 a national seminar was held by Motogake Kawamukai Sensei in Turin. At the time he was Technical Director of FIK- Aikido. I passed the Shodan examination. M. Saito sensei came to Italy in 1985 for the first time. He held two seminars in Turin and Osimo and I attended both. From 1977 to 1985 I studied with the most famous Masters.

After meeting Saito sensei and Tomita sensei I decided to devote myself to the study of Takemusu Aiki
I had been teaching for seven years at the “Aikido Club Modena” of Giorgio Oscari, when, in 1987, I decided it was time to open my own school. Thus beginning a new adventure, I founded the “Aikido Club Sassuolo".

During the Summer Camp 2005 in Sweden, Tomita Sensei gave me the title of ShihanDai. This is one of the highest recognitions to obtain. It means “Successor”. I believe only few people can boast such a title.
In 2013, Tomita Sensei gave me the 7th Dan.

I have been teaching in many cities in Italy: Modena, Bologna, Ravenna, Parma, Firenze and in 1980-81 I opened the first course of Aikido in Trento.
I have held stages and demonstrations in France, Germany, England, Portugal, Sweden, Finland, Bulgaria, Belgium, Russia and Canada.

I think Aikido is a real way of life.

A black belt does not guarantee competence, as the mere title of Master is not a guarantee of teaching ability.
I am a “researcher”. As such I research and study every day.
Aikido has countless facets and as many ways of practice.
Everybody should try to find their own.
